Their many celebrity friends have already confirmed the arrival of Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z’s first child – now the new parents have released an official statement about their birth of the daughter.

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.
Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.
She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.
We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.

Aww, Beyonce and Jay sound elated. And we’re not surprised after the news earlier today that Beyonce had Jay-Z-reveals-Beyonce-suffered-a-miscarriage-before-Blue-Ivy-Carter/">tragically suffered a miscarriage before falling pregnant with Blue.
We also noticed that the statement says the birth was natural, which contradicts previous reports that Bey has a planned caesarean.
