It’s been a rocky few months for Lauren Conrad’s ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner and his girlfriend Avril Lavigne. At the end of last year the couple were apparently attacked with a bottle outside a club, leaving Brody needing stitches and Avril with a black eye. Now, it seems the pair have decided to call it a day. Or have they?
"They decided to end their relationship," a source tells Life & Style. "It wasn't working out, and they wanted to go their separate ways." Another friend has also supposedly said, "She wanted to settle down, but he wasn't exactly ready. They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time. It put a strain on their relationship.”
Avril, who was married to punk-rocker Deryck Whibley, started dating The Hills star Brody in 2010, just a few months after the split from her husband. The couple have been totally loved-up ever since, with Brody even calling her the love of his life, though, so should we believe these latest split rumours?
Brody has decided to take to twitter in response, saying “It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her.” Avril then re-tweeted Brody and replied, "luv u 2!!! @BrodyJenner." Hmm, the plot thickens!
So, should we presume the couple are still together, or could Avril “luv” Brody like a friend? Or maybe, Brody and Lauren are finally going to get together after all these years and marry and live happily ever after? Okay, maybe not… Either way, we’ll be glued to twitter, that’s for sure.
