Hardcore gleeks out there will know that one of the big messages sent out in every episode of Glee is that you should be accepting of who you are and love yourself regardless of your flaws. It seems the message isn’t just rubbing off on us, the viewers, but also on some of the cast members too.
Before being cast as Rachel Berry in Glee, Lea Michele was reportedly knocked back from a number of roles, which left her feeling ugly and unwanted.
According to Showbiz Spy, the actress said, “Being on Glee has really made me accept and love and enjoy my type of beauty and how I look, so now I get to enjoy fashion because it is just another way to express yourself. I just think it is fun and when you are internally happy within yourself you really feel beautiful and it shows and you can’t fake that.”
Lea has made no secret of the fact that she’d love to play the role of Eponine in the big-screen adaptation of Les Miserables which is starring Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, and Russell Crowe as Javert. However it has been reported by broadwayworld.com that Lea has missed out on the part as producers have decided to offer it to pop singer Taylor Swift instead. With the film being directed by Tom Hooper it’s sure to be a big success. We can’t wait!
