The last series of Strictly Come Dancing was livened up with the presence of celebrity astrologer Russell Grant, who came out each week giving it his all with his flamboyant flare… Could the fact that he is extremely loved by the public earn him the newly vacant seat on the shows judging panel?
It was recently announced that Alesha Dixon will not be joining her fellow judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli on Strictly for the next series, instead she has decided to join Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Amanda Holden on Britain’s Got Talent.
With Alesha gone there’s been all sorts of rumours circulating on who might be replacing her, including 2010 winner Kara Tointon and former professional partner Karen Hardy, but today it’s been reported that Russell Grant might be in with a chance too.
An insider told The Sun, “Russell made a huge impression on Strictly last year - not only with viewers but with bosses too. There was a big groundswell in favour of Russell taking over Alesha's judging role, and executives contacted him to see whether he would be up for it and he gave them a resounding yes."
"There are some concerns that Alesha's replacement should be a woman as an all-male panel would be too lop-sided, but executives will decide on that in the spring."
Are you sad that Alesha won’t be on this year’s judging panel for SCD? Are you excited by the new line-up for BGT? And who would you love to see as a new judge on Strictly?
