Actor James Corden has managed to shed a massive five stone ahead of the West End to Broadway transfer of his play One Man, Two Guvnors.
Talking to the Daily Mirror, a source revealed, “James is the lightest he has been since he was a child - 16 stone. As well as hiring a personal trainer, James cut out his favourite snack – cheesy Quavers – and stopped eating late at night.
“He’s not doing anything faddy but is simply trying to eat more healthily. The plan is to lose another stone-and-a-half by April, when the show kicks off in New York.”
However, according to the source it’s not just the play that has caused him to lose the weight, but also the arrival of his son Max with partner Julia Carey.
The source continued, “Since becoming a dad, his priorities have changed. He realised he wanted to get fit and maximise play time with his son Max. He didn’t want to be huffing and puffing around after the youngster. The final incentive was when his theatre hit One Man Two Guvnors was signed up for a run on Broadway.”
The show transfer has also put hold to James and Julia’s wedding plans, for the time being. The actor recently said, “I'm not getting married just yet, I'm too busy working. I'm off to New York in a few months. There is just too much going on.
'Going to America is the best prize so fingers crossed it will work out on Broadway. I will be taking my family with me which will be amazing but it has meant we'll have to marry when we get back. We haven't set a date yet.”
