Michelle Williams opens up about Heath Ledger and daughter

Tissues at the ready. Michelle Williams has been questioned about Heath Ledger and her comments will bring a lump to your throat and tear to your eye.

Speaking about the shocking death in 2008 of her former fiancé and father of her daughter Matilda, Michelle admits she was driven “crazy” in the aftermath of Heath’s death.

“It was making me crazy. I felt like I was going crazy,” Michelle admits to GQ. “It was too much - trying to deal with what had happened and trying to deal with what was at our doorstep. I just felt trapped. And it's not just me - there's somebody else who I'm trying to protect, and I can't. I can't make it stop, I can't make it go away. Trying to find ways to explain it or shield her from it. It's like you're trying to go about your life, and make dinner...but the roof is off of your house, and the walls are falling down.”

If that’s not tear-jerking enough, Michelle also admits that six-year-old Matilda sets an example for her, “[Matilda’s] bravery and exuberance is the example that I take with me in my work and in my life.”

Don’t worry, we’re blubbing too.

And since she cared so much about her daughter during that time she should've stayed with her rather than going off to film more movies and trying to get herself more famous.

Brokeback and Shutter Island are the only decent grossing ones on that list, Brokeback had controversy and Jake/Heath to garner it attention. Shutter Island had Leonardo DiCaprio. The ones that didn't have huge star(s) in them didn't do that well, she is NOT a box office draw. I have done research and that's how I know she's not going anywhere. She has no charisma and she's not that good of an actress, there are far better ones in the world especially ones with charm and class.

Magpie "...her career isn't gaining any steam." Since 2005 My Week with Marilyn (Budget: $7.2+ / Gross: $16.5Mil) Blue Valentine (Budget: $1Mil / Gross: $12.5Mil) Shutter Island (Budget: $80Mil / Gross: $295Mil) Brokeback Mountain (Budget: $14Mil / Gross: $178Mil) Oh, back to back noms...and of course the recent win. She's respected because she has OPENING POWER...which is why Producers in this caliber likes to attached her. It's unfortunate what she had to go through, and Matilda. Please put down the NATIONAL ENQUIRE. Do research and back up your comments. Cheers:-)

Magpie, where ignorance is bliss it's folly to be wise.

And yes I know she and Heath were not together when he died but it's still insensitive.

I know it was part of an interview and it was brought up but if celebrities really to care about their personal life, then they wouldn't answer such a personal question. I don't have respect for her as a month after Heath died, she began dating somebody else. How confusing would that be for a young child? And heartless in her case too.

In all fairness, Magpie89, I don't think she did an interview purely about his death, I think she was doing an interview and they asked her about it and she answered, not as if she 'sold her story' or anything. I have a massive respect for her. She's always been so dignified and I can't even begin to imagine how you would tell a young toddler that she'll never see her daddy again.

Oh, I see, what an attention seeker. Using the death of Heath to garner publicity for herself just because her career isn't gaining any steam.

She was so dignified when it happened, I think she handled herself really well. Definitely showed up other 'celebrities' who run to the papers or chat shows.
