With all of the excitement surrounding Michelle Williams' Oscar nod for her incredible performance in My Week With Marilyn, we'd bet our last chocolate (we wouldn't really because we ate it) that movie producers and casting agents are falling over themselves to sign the blonde star up for more sure-to-be-amazing-films. Well Hollywood is just going to have to wait for a while because there is something, or rather someone, waaaay more important to Williams than a bunch of shiny awards ever will be.
Speaking to E! on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Michelle said she was keen to go back to being a mummy to her 6-year-old daughter Matilda, whom she had with the late Heath Ledger.
When asked what she was working on or had coming up, the actress said, "Absolutely nothing. I hope to take some time off, I just want to go back to being a mom for a while."
When Heath tragically died in 2008 Michelle said she was desperate to find another relationsip because she worried that Matilda wouldn't have the chance to have a brother or sister who was close in age.
Michelle and Heath got together in 2004 on the set of Brokeback Mountain and were together until September 2007. A few months later Michelle started dating Spike Jonze but that relatioship ended about a year after.
Now that her daughter is older, the Hollywood beauty admits she feels less pressure.
"I really wanted, and I really expected or imagined, that Matilda would have siblings that were close to her age. I wanted that for her. But I couldn't make that happen.And now that she's six that isn't even a possibility anymore. So something that was making me feel impatient, that's been removed. For whatever reason, that's not our luck, or our path."
