The plans for Kate Middleton’s 30th birthday bash have been revealed.
With a party-planning mum and sister and a party-loving brother-in-law, there’s no way that Kate Middleton’s 30th birthday party is going to be celebrated without a LOT of attention to detail.
A royal source told Grazia that Pippa Middleton and Prince Harry have secretly (oops!) prepared an 80’s themed party for the newlywed, to pay tribute to the decade the Duchess was born in.
On the night before her birthday (which is on the 9th of January, fact fans), she will go to the premiere of Stephen Spielberg’s film War Horse with William. Afterwards, the pair will attend a £10,000 a ticket charity dinner.
The next day’s revelry will be a small, exclusive event, for “close friends and family”. The source added that Kate has asked all guests to give money to charity instead of giving her presents. William, however, apparently has plans to commission an oil portrait of his wife to both celebrate her big day and commemorate her first year in the royal family.
And if that didn’t make her feel special enough, the Queen is said to be giving Kate a tiara from her collection. Nice one!
Kate’s going to want to let those luscious locks down before next month, when husband William will be posted in the Falklands as part of his RAF job.
The source said: “It’s going to be a party of clashes in every way. On the one hand there are all these exquisite trappings, and on the other, Pippa is planning to top off the party with a karaoke session."
"Kate needs to enjoy herself while she can, though, so she can be forgiven for belting out a few Duran Duran and Madonna numbers on her birthday.”
