The show must go on, as Russell Brand is finding out...
Despite only recently announcing the news of his divorce from Katy Perry, the comedian can’t spend his time hiding under his duvet while eating pizza and listening to The Smiths (it’s how we imagine Russ deals with heartbreak), he has to get on with his showbiz work.
Russ is in LA to promote his new show for the FX channel, Strangely Uplifting. While chatting to reporters about the show, the funny man was asked how he’s getting on, and his response was typically Russell-like and surreal.
“I'm quite well, thank you,” he told the assembled press. “Because of 'events,' I suppose what you're doing is making the mistake of seeing time as linear.” Citing American novelist Kurt Vonnegut he then continued, “He'll tell you that if you imagine reality as experienced simultaneously, events become redundant.”
We think this is Russell’s way of saying he’s trying to dwell on his divorce. We think…
The Get Him To The Greek star was also quick to put an end to suggestions that he’d be discussing his own life in the new current affair show,
“If I'd done something actually newsworthy - by some bizarre quirk [wink wink] - then I'd cover it. But if it was just more lacquered nonsense designed to distract us from truth, then I'd wisely ignore it…I don't want to further celebrate the overly elaborate brittle structures of nonsense that are constantly fired into our minds to constantly distract us from what's important.”
So it’s safe to say we’re not getting any dirt from Russell then?
