Simon Cowell has pledged to keep Amanda Holden’s seat at the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel vacant until she returns to fill it.
Amanda went into labour at the start of the week, missing BGT auditions in Blackpool. The birth of her second child Hollie proved difficult and Amanda has been in hospital ever since. She underwent an emergency c-section and was in a critical condition after the birth, she required several blood transfusions. Amanda's condition was so serious that her husband has since released a statement thanking medical staff for saving her life.
Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has now assured the 40-year-old mother of two that she will not be replaced on the series that is currently being filmed, telling The Mirrror at the Cardiff auditions in the Millennium Stadium, “It has been a worrying time but she is quite cheerful and hopes to be out of hospital soon. We are not looking at a replacement – we want Amanda back when she is good and ready.”
A source has confirmed that Amanda is slowly but surely getting healthier, “She’s feeling so much better and is starting to get back to her usual self.” We’re pleased to hear that Amanda is making a good recovery, and we hope she’ll be back on the judging panel for the live shows later this year.
