Cuba Gooding Jr has recently revealed the embarrassing moment he heard his father ask Tom Cruise whether he was gay.
The handsome star and his pops were on the set of one of our favourite 90’s romcoms, Jerry Maguire, when he asked the actor about his sexuality. Cuba says,
"He gave Tom a hug and said, 'I love you man. Now seriously, are you gay or not?'…I almost fainted. And thought, please Lord, let me disappear. Tom just laughed and said 'no'."
The actor revealed his father’s blunder to Graham Norton on The Graham Norton Show. Cuba won an Oscar for his role as an NFL player in the film that shot him to fame and fortune. However, he says he’s still accosted by stranger’s to repeat that famous line ‘Show me the money!’. The Men Of Honour star went on to say,
"I doesn't go away. I get it all the time…I wish I had a wand that would make people disappear whenever they say it…it's hard, especially when some drunk in a bar asks and finally you say it and he says, 'No, say it like you said it in the movie'."
Good to know, but Cuba, if we do ever manage to meet you, we’re probably still going to ask you to scream it with us.
