After rumours of toyboy lovers and lots of naughty antics on Celebrity Big Brother, poor old Denise Welch burst into tears today as she officially announced her separation from her husband of 23 years, Tim Healy.
The Celeb BB winner made the statement earlier today on Loose Women.
While we say ‘announce’ it is more like ‘finally admit’ after it would seem that the couple parted ways some time ago. Denise said:
'I just want to say, this is going to be really difficult for me... My family made a decision that we would talk about this today. Tim and I separated some time ago."
She continued: "So I'm not having an affair, we have been living our own lives for some time now. I just wanted to thank everybody. Tim and I feel a sense of relief that we don't have to hide this anymore. We've actually become better friends since we've made the decision but we wanted to have Christmas with the family without telling anybody.
We're all just going to move forward as a family. Tim and I are still going to be co-parents (to sons Matthew, 22, and Louis, 10) and we love each other very much.'
So she wasn’t having an affair, just has a hot young boyfriend. Guess that clears that up, then! Now, can someone get Den a tissue?
