If you think Dancing On Ice is all celebs on a jolly from their day jobs, think again. This is some serious stuff! If having to squeeze into a tight, sparkly leotard wasn't bad enough, dealing with fast-moving, blade-topped limbs is! Just ask Jennifer Ellison...
The blonde ex-Brookside star, who has been tearing through the rounds, was in the middle of performing the difficult and terrifying-sounding Scorpian Kick move when disaster struck. Jen had kicked her leg back and up with so much force she hit her head with the blade of her boots. All together now...OUCH!!
Amazingly, even though her head was bleeding and must have been throbbing with pain, Jennifer finished the rest of her routine and calmly stood waiting for the results. Dan Whiston, Jen's skating partner rushed over to his petite skate princess as soon as he could and was seen holding his hands to her scalp.
Speaking of the incident, Dan said, "At the end of the routine Jen does a scorpion kick. She threw her leg really high and the heel of her skate has gone into the back of her head. Her whole hair was just red because obviously the heart's pumping and a lot of blood's come out. But she's in great hands now."
Though stitches weren't needed, the gash was deep enough for it to need to be glued together. This isn't the first time Ellison has been in the wars on DOI. A few weeks ago she was hurt whilst practising another tough move.
All of this bravary seems to be working a treat for Jen so far, she scored a whopping 19 points last night! The highest score of the series so far. Was it worth the headache, though love?
