As the devastating news of Whitney Houston's passing reaches all around the world, some of our biggest stars - many of whom were friends with Whitney - have been expressing shock and grief at the loss of the legendary singer and actress.

Mariah Carey called her “one of the greatest voices to ever grace this earth” after changing her Twitter profile picture to one of the pair of them in happy times, while Rihanna – who has been rehearsing for tonight’s Grammy Awards, which 48-year-old Whitney was due to attend - said she “can’t think of anything else right now”. I remembered when it was announced that Whitney Houston was due to be making a come back. I was so excited! Not because I was this major lover of ALL her music, but because I thought "finally, someone is coming back to show the music scene how it's MEANT to be done!" and then this... ... ... ... ... For some reason am not able to get the "One Moment In Time" song out of my head either. It's just awful that this has happened to someone who had such an incredible amount to still offer. But I certainly hope for her she is at last free.

First it was Michael Jackson and now Whitney Houston. My worst fears have come. I could not believe it! This hurts sooo bad. The only two Artist I have ever grieved over. I was listening to her tribute videos on MTV JAM last night and downloading her videos back to back sending them to my Facebook page at the same time listing to both. This just blew me away. I couldn't stop. I m still grieving. The only thing that did lift some of the load from my heart, was the last video of hers I downloaded..."I LOOK TO YOU" <3<3<3 I Know she's singing praises to our Heavenly Father now. He heard her cry!<3 R.I.P. Whitney Houston!<3...Gone But Never forgotten<3 :-'''(

Very sad - her songs are some of the best to blast and out and sing along too and I used to love watching Bodyguard.

I hope there is someone willing and able to look after her daughter. This is so, so sad for her.
