We love bubbly Brian Dowling and he’s the last person we’d wish anything bad to happen to. So we really hope he’s not too shaken after being mugged at knifepoint.
The Big Brother contestant-turned-presenter was near his flat in south west London when he was accosted by two people: “They emptied the contents of my wallet, went through my pockets and took my phone.”
“I was terrified. I live in a lovely area, it was only nine at night and was only 30 seconds from my apartment. You don’t expect it at that time of night, or on a quiet residential street.”
He told The Sun that he thought they pointing a gun at him before realising it was a knife: “All I could think of was: ‘Are they going to stab me?”
Too stunned to shout for help, he saw passers-by on the opposite side of the road “unaware what was going on”. After the incident, he went to his flat, shocked at what had happened: “I felt physically sick when I got home”
The Irish-born presenter then called the police, who are looking for the robbers from Lambeth police station.
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed the news, stating: “At around 9pm on Wednesday we were called to reports of a man in his 30s being robbed. No arrests have been made at the present.”
Aww Brian, you poor guy. Sending big hugs your way.
