Strenuous dance moves, freezing cold temperatures and sequins don’t exactly turn us on, but then again, we’re not Dancing On Ice's Chico.
He said: “For the first couple of weeks, I think I was just buzzing. I was on heat!”
The chance to star in the hit ITV series has been a lifeline to Chico, who was in dire need of the money: “It’s gone from having £3.70 in my pocket, not knowing what’s going on, to offers coming in.
"I swear to god, ten minutes after praying for something, I got a call from Dancing on Ice.”
Chico replaced Chesney Hawkes, who had to drop out following an injury sustained before the show even started. And the former X Factor contestant says this is the reason his sex life with his wife was rejuvenated: “I know this sounds really funny but in those first couple of weeks I felt like I was on Viagra!"
"It was like adrenaline because I couldn’t believe I’d got that call. People either injure themselves during the show or after the show, not three days before. I was on such a high, my feet didn’t touch the ground for days. My wife didn’t touch the ground either, it was all going off!”
Is it Chico time for a comeback?
He also revealed that he has written new material and wants to unleash it on the world: “I’ve got a song actually, called ‘feet don’t fail me now’. It’s the phrase I use in the tunnel when my feet are shaking. I say ‘feet don’t fail me now’ - so I turned it into a song and I hope to release it.”
