Janet Devlin and Craig Colton make an unlikely pair in Birmingham today, holding hands while strolling in the sun.
The two X Factor stars were out and about with the other X Factor finalists ahead of the live Tour concert at the LG Arena. We don’t remember these two being particularly chummy when The X Factor was on, but they were happily holding hands and smiling at the camera.
Craig Colton started out as one of the most popular X Factor contestants last year, winning us over with his sweeter-than-sweet back story (he worked in a biscuit factory with his dad) and then with a booming first audition of Adele's Hiding My Heart Away.
The Liverpool singer ended up finishing fifth after being beaten by Amelia Lily by the public vote when the judges took it to a deadlock situation. The 23-year-old later suggested the song he sang, James Bond favourite ‘Licence To Kill was the reason for his demise.
Although Craig stayed popular, Janet Devlin’s brightly shining star of popularity ground to a gradual halt when she started displaying a bit of ‘tude. She lost votes quite rapidly (a disastrous rendition of Hanson’s MMMBop did NOT help) and the redhead ended up ‘excited’ about leaving the show.
Perhaps Craig and Janet’s friendly hand-holding means they’ve found common ground now that rather than competing with each other, they’re both in the X Factor finalist-machine.
We remember Craig saying his BFF on the show was Marcus Collins, but luckily for Janet there’s enough Craig-love to go round.
