It’s been three years since Jade Goody lost her battle ovarian cancer at the age of 27 on Mother’s Day 2009. But Jeff Brazier - the father of Jade’s two boys Bobby, 8, and Freddie, 7 – says he will make visiting Jade’s grave this Mother’s Day a happy experience for the boys.

Bobby and Freddie will visit their mum today at what they call “Mummy’s special place” were they will talk to Jade and have a water fight,

“If Jade is looking down from heaven, she would love the way the boys always play when they come to her grave,” Jeff tells The Sun On Sunday. “They feel comforted and liberated when they visit.

“Afterwards, we'll invite all their friends and we'll release a load of balloons for Jade.”

Jeff has also revealed that he helps the boys work through their grief by keep Jade’s memory alive and always talking about her,

“I didn't want them to forget that Jade and I were once together,” reveals Jeff. “I regularly give the boys pictures of her that they haven't seen before - so that we can all talk about her and what was happening when that particular photo was taken.

“Jade comes up in conversation all the time. If we are in a restaurant and they don't know what to order, they say, ‘What would Mummy order?’”

Grief Encounter

Jeff has also explained that the boy still have regular grief counselling to help them work through their feelings of bereavement

“I contacted the charity Grief Encounter, which specialises in helping children who have lost a parent or a sibling,” says Jeff. “They were my saviours. Since then, they have sent a counsellor to the children's school once a week most weeks. Bobby and Freddie each have an hour with her, during which they talk about their feelings, about their mum and how they miss her.”

Thinking about Jade really does make us feel so sad, but it sounds like Jeff is doing an amazing job of bringing up her beloved boys.
