Jessica Simpson has looked like she’s ready to pop for months now, but the singer has cleared up the rumours surrounding her large bump (it’s been speculated that she’s having twins), by revealing that she just has a lot of amniotic fluid.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night she confessed she’d been told by doctors that her large bump was due to an excess of fluid. The singer said, “I feel I have a bowling ball sitting on my hoo haa! Apparently I have a lot of amniotic fluid, so whenever my water breaks it will be like a fire hydrant!”
Speaking of her relationship with the baby’s father, and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, on how they met and whether they have plans to get married any time soon, she said, “Eric feels like my husband already, we are just doing it a little bit backwards. We met at my house - he just came with one of my friends to my house, we were watching March madness or something. He came over and we sat on my stairwell and talked and I just haven't let him leave!”
Jessica has just had a baby shower thrown for her by her family and friends, with guests including her sister Ashlee, Jessica Alba and Ellen Pompeo. She said, “I just had a baby shower yesterday which was unbelievable. It was a Charlotte's web thing - we had a whole fair. We had fried Oreos.”
Asked whether she’s nervous about giving birth, Jessica said, “No, I'm ready to push!”
