We can’t imagine that being separated from a husband - let alone a prince - for six weeks, is much fun. So we bet Kate Middleton’s got a big cheesy grin on her face now that Prince William’s returned from official RAF duty in the south Atlantic.
The royal has returned from a stint in the Falkland Islands, where he’s been doing search and rescue missions. A spokesperson for St James’ Palace confirmed that he’ll have a few days off, which the couple “will spend privately”. Afterwards, the couple will return to Angelsey, North Wales, where Wills will get back to work in his regular search and rescue post.
The Duke of Cambridge (if we're to use his proper name) is set to meet his beau at their Kensington Palace cottage, but they’ll have to put off the tongue-kisses, as they won’t be alone in their first moments back together. Queen Elizabeth is set to greet her grandson on his return, as is royal puppy Lupo.
Kate’s kept herself busy while her new husband’s been 8000 miles away, going to all sorts of royal engagements and even making her first public speech at the launch of a new facility at the Ipswich East Anglia Children's Hospice.
And though they were apart on their first Valentine’s Day as happily marrieds, Wills made it up to Kate by sending her a bouquet of flowers and a card. According to The Mirror, on a recent trip to Leicester cathedral Kate told a well-wisher that she missed the prince “terribly” but that she was “being well looked after” in his absence.
Awww. We think Kate’s done really well while Wills has been away – what do you think?
