Scarlett Johansson has been channelling Buddha today, saying she feels as if she's "lived many lifetimes" and that she's grown more tolerant and patient than she used to be.
In an interview to talk about her new film We Bought A Zoo, the 27-year-old actress also said she sometimes feels bloated, a lot like Buddha himself.
Perhaps in an attempt to make us mere mortals feel good about ourselves, down-to-earth Scarlett plays down her appearance, saying "sometimes I feel beautiful. Other times I feel bloated like everybody does."
On being considered a worldwide sex symbol, Scarlett says: "it’s sort of ridiculous" and claims: "there are so many more beautiful women out there on the street and in and out of the industry."
The Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress split from husband of two years Ryan Reynolds last summer.
After a somewhat short-lived fling with old-time actor Sean Penn, naked pictures of Scarlett were hacked from her phone and published on the internet. She admitted the episode led her feeling ‘violated’.
At the moment she's feeling grateful for her job, knowing there are actors out there struggling "I know so many incredibly talented actors who can’t even get a job doing a commercial or voice-over," she says.
In her latest role, Scarlett plays a salt-of-the-earth zookeeper called Kelly Foster. We Bought A Zoo is out tomorrow.
