It’s been three weeks since Whitney Houston’s untimely death, and her family members are beginning to open up to Whitney’s friend Oprah Winfrey on her TV show.
In a teaser for the special episode, sister-in-law Patricia Houston tells Oprah that she thought Whitney’s death was simply a matter of time.
When asked: “Did you think that drugs would end up taking her? Did you think that?” she replied: “The handwriting was kind of on the wall. I would be kidding myself to say otherwise.”
She added that she thought Whitney's situation was getting worse before she died: “If things hadn’t changed. But things had, were, changing. Things were really changing with her. Very much so. It wasn’t about substance abuse or anything like that…I was afraid for other things, lifestyle, more so.”
This is all a bit vague at the moment – we’re sure there’ll be more on this after Oprah’s interviews with Patricia, Whitney's brother Gary and daughter Bobbi Kristina, are broadcast in the States this weekend.
