We reported last night that Jessica Simpson had finally given birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew who, after arriving two weeks late, weighed in at a very healthy 9lb 13oz.
Since the news of little Maxwell’s arrival Jess’ celebrity pals have taken to Twitter to wish mum, baby and dad Eric Johnson all the best.
How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigann – who is currently expecting her second child – joked,
“Congrats to Jessica Simpson! Does this mean I now have the biggest baby bump in Hollywood?”
While Jersey Shore star Snooki – who is another new mum-to-be – also sent the singer-turned-designer her best wishes via the mirco-blogging site,
“Congrats to Jessica Simpson for having a beautiful baby!!! So exciting!”
In love
Jess’ family have also congratulated the star on the arrival of Maxwell, with her dad Joe happily tweeting,
“Proud PaPaJoe!! Beautiful baby girl... What a miracle!"
While little sister Ashlee has told People that she and her 3-year-old son already love new arrival Maxwell,
“Bronx and I are in love with Maxwell already! Jessica has wanted to be a mum since we were little girls and I couldn't be more excited for her and Eric!”
Not all the message were quite so cutesy. American Pie star Jason Biggs hilariously tweeted,
“Are the rumours true? Did Jessica Simpson just give birth to a couch?”
