From this side of the pond Hollywood encounters always seem bizarre and wacky – but this one might just win the prize for the most dramatic one ever, as it saw one Disney princess almost driving her car into one of the biggest musical legends of all time. Yes, this is how Demi Lovato met Sir Paul McCartney.
Demi, clearly still shaken up after the traumatic event, returned home hours later to share her news with her six and a half million followers on Twitter, writing, “So.... today I was pulling into a parking space that some guys were standing in the middle of, and almost hit them.
“When one of the guys turned around.... it was a BEATLE........ Yes, YOU HEARD ME.... SIR PAUL McCARTNEY!!! He was so sweet!! Can't believe I met him today.. WOW!”
She continued, “I can't believe I almost ran over a Beatle.”
The singer was in London a couple of weeks ago talking about the pressure put on young girls to look a certain way. She told Daybreak, “I feel as if television and movies are now glorifying an unhealthy body image which puts a lot of pressure on young girls – and especially girls that are growing up and trying to find themselves.
“A lot of girls who are young are insecure, and they look to the media and what they see in magazines and everything else to see what they should look like. And I think that the film industry and the television industry should take more responsibility.”
