What a great guy Hugh Jackman is.
The X-Men star showed off his generous side recently by treating the entire cast and crew of his new film Les Miserables, in which he plays escaped convict Jean Valjean, to scratchcards.
The film has been adapted from the hugely popular musical based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel.
The cast, which includes Anne Hathaway, had to take a break during filming in Berkshire because of rain. It was during this break that Hugh headed off to a local newsagent and bought £250 worth of scratchcards to cheer up his Les Mis buddies.
“Hugh said he needed to go to the shops then came back with a wad of scratchcards and handed them out to everyone,” a source told The Sun.
“It’s a nice gesture. No one won, however – or if they did they’re not saying.”
This isn’t the first time Hugh’s treated his colleagues to a little gambling treat – he bought $500 worth of Lotto tickets while working on Real Steel last year.
Is that Hugh or a hobo?

Hugh’s been almost unrecognisable during his time filming Les Miserables.
Looking more tramp that Hollywood hearththrob, Hugh’s been sporting a rather impressive, albeit revolting looking beard for his latest role of an ex-convict on the run.
And nothing goes better with a scraggly beard than long rags, dirty boots and a nice new hairdo – a shaved head complete with prosthetic scars.
Is it bad that we still fancy him?
