James Corden’s son has given him a ‘great sense of clarity’

James Corden’s son has given him a ‘great sense of clarity’

It’s fair to say that a few years ago James Corden loved to party and enjoyed making the most of his huge success. However, since becoming a dad, his life has changed dramatically. The actor is currently starring on Broadway in One Man, Two Guvnors, after it became a hit in London’s West End and transferred across the pond, and has taken his new family along for the adventure.

Speaking to The Mirror about his son and the move to America, he said, “It’s given me a great sense of clarity. You get into your house and shut the door and it’s lovely to be greeted by this person who’s become the most important thing. It’s amazing.

“It’s really important for me to have my family there while I’m doing this. It’s great to have them with me, I couldn’t do this without them. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be a wonderful experience for all of us.”

Although James is excited about the family’s new adventure, he knows it’s going to be tough performing the show eight times a week for nearly six months, he said, “It’s a killer. It’s a really, really hard thing. We’ve already done it 228 times – now there’s another 246 to go.

“My son was born a week before we started rehearsals. So it’s been full-on. But it’s an amazing thing to be doing a play on a Monday, hosting The Brits on a Tuesday, then back for the matinee on Wednesday. Then to host a panel show for Sky and open as a lead on Broadway. It’s not lost on me how special this moment is. These are transient things, they come and they go, and I’m aware this is a time that I should try to cherish.”
