Katy Perry has followed in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale by making her own spoof video of Carly Rae Jepsen’s song Call Me Maybe.
Justin, Selena and Ashley posted the video of them miming along to the tune earlier in the year and now Katy’s jumped on the bandwagon.
Katy’s lip-syncing video shows her and her buddies singing along to the track while hanging out at Californian musical festival Coachella.
Katy, sporting a new purple hairdo, and her friends are seen doing some seriously crazy dancing, by the pool at a pretty swanky looking mansion.
She's been spending a lot of time with her bosom buddy Rihanna while she’s been at the festival, but unfortunately she’s nowhere to be seen in the clip.
Katy pouts at the camera at the end of the video and says: “We love you Justin Bieber.”
Carly Rae Jepsen
So who is this Carly Rae Jepsen girl who’s getting all this celebrity attention?
Well, Carly came third in Canadian Idol in 2007 and since then has been mentored by Justin Bieber.
It seems like she’s still getting used to her celebrity status and the song, Call Me Maybe’s, popularity.
She said recently: “It's hard to believe at the moment. It's definitely a surreal life that I'm in right now, but I'm enjoying every second of it. It's pretty crazy."
With all the A-list attention, the song’s been a huge hit and made the Number 1 spot in the UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.
