A very brave Jennifer Hudson has testified in the murder trial of William Balfour – the man accused of murdering her mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew in October 2008.

Balfour is the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia Hudson, and the singer told the court how she had warned her sister not to marry Balfour,

“I told her over and over again to not marry him. We did not like how he treated her,” she said.

The court has heard from the prosecution that Balfour made threats to Jennifer’s sister before the murder. According to the cases’ lead prosecutor James McKay, Balfour warned Julia, “If you ever leave me I'm going to kill you, but I'm going to kill your family first.”

Our thoughts are with Jennifer and her family at this very difficult time.

There are many perks to being a member of One Direction (the chance to pull lots of hot girls being just one), but apparently money isn’t on the benefits list.

Bandmember Niall Horan has revealed that Simon Cowell only pays the teen heartthrobs in sweeties,

“Simon Cowell is tight. That’s why he’s so successful – he’s able to keep his money to himself. We’re paid in jelly beans,” Niall jokes in The Sun.

Of course, Niall is just kidding around. Record company boss Simon recently gave the boys a £2million bonus to reward them for all their success. Now that's not to be laughed at!

Cheryl Cole must be helping the BBC save a fortune on restaurant bills and room service for Will.i.am. The Call My Name singer has reportedly been whipping up some delicious dishes at her north London home for the Black Eyed Peas singer while he’s in town for The Voice.

Cheryl has treated her pal to a Sunday roast, scones and tarts – and will is said to be a big fan of her culinary efforts.

“Will.i.am loves the food,” a source tells The Sun. “It makes a change from backstage catering, restaurants and hotels. Cheryl has always been interested in food but recently started taking it seriously. It’s a way to unwind.”
