Queen of the divas, Mariah Carey has insisted she doesn’t care that Britney Spears got the big X Factor USA job and she didn’t.
When asked her thoughts on the news that Britney had signed a $15 million contract to join the judging panel, she made her feelings pretty clear.
“You think I focus on that stuff? Have we met?” she told Extra.
Realising she might have been a tad mean, the singer quickly backtracked and said she didn’t have any ill feelings towards Britney.
“I love her, honestly, I think she's a very nice person, but I don't care who's going on that show – as long as it's not me.”

Mariah was never actually in the running to take over from previous X Factor USA judges Paula Abdul or Nicole Scherzinger, but there was talk of her joining the judging panel for the first series.
Judging the judges
Mariah had some pretty interesting ideas on how she could have been involved in the first series of the talent show.
“Last year she wanted to have a role, but she wanted to judge the judges or something, and that wouldn't have worked,” an insider told the MailOnline.
“Everyone involved loves Mariah but what she's saying about Britney and the show seems pretty harsh,” the inside source added.
At least someone’s excited

Pushing Mariah’s negativity to one side for a minute, it looks like Britney’s looking forward to her new role as judge.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join The X Factor judging panel. I’m a huge fan of the show and now I get to be a part of the action. Simon and L.A. better watch out.”

And the other newbie on the judging panel, 19-year-old Demi Lovato, is equally happy with her new job.
“I’m so thrilled to join this legendary group of judges on the show. To be able to spend each week with Simon, L.A. and Britney watching the best that America has to offer is truly a dream come true.”
So what do you think – is Mariah just jealous?
