With Cheryl Cole on course to have the biggest single of the year so far with Call My Name we were very interested to hear that, according to reports, Rita Ora was actually originally offered the tune. Or was she? It's all a bit of a mystery...
Rita had apparently been quoted as saying she had originally been offered the track but turned it down.
“I heard Call My Name quite a while ago because I was offered it. I turned it down. I don’t want to go down the dance route that a lot of other pop stars are doing.”
Upon hearing this news Calvin Harris, who wrote and produced the song, took to Twitter to rubbish the singer's claims. Calvin seemingly stumbled across the information on Wikipedia (why he was googling Call My Name or something related we don't know) and he was not happy about it!
For the record, Call My Name was never given to Rita Ora to sing… she made that up, don’t know why
Read it on Wikipedia just then, its (sic) crazy how news stories become facts like that!
And that's not all. Harris also tweeted the following, which looked like a tweet directed at Ora herself...
I was setting the record straight as you didn't at the time. It was a disrespectful comment to make, that's all.
Rita isn't one to take comments lying down. The blonde star used her own Twitter page to try and set the record straight with the public and Calvin.
