Cameron Diaz is the latest celebrity who wants to use her power for good. The 39-year-old actress is planning to write a book to help teenage girls realise the importance of proper nutrition.
Cam wants to pass on everything she’s learned about healthy eating and share with teenage girls, in the hopes that she’ll ease the pressure girls feel to be skinny
“She wants to stop their fixation on being thin, and for teenage girls to understand that being healthy is more important,” a source tells E! News. “She wants to use her celebrity to make a difference. She knows she is a role model to girls and she really wants to use that position to do good. This book is not about weight, it's about making the right choices.”
The What To Expect When You’re Expecting star isn’t leaving the healthy eating crusade at just writing a book, she reportedly also has plans in place to tour schools in the US and speak to students about their attitudes to food.
“Cameron is going to be visiting high schools around the country to talk to teenagers about their food choices and what is important to them,
“She wants them to know that being thin should not be their priority, it's about getting the right vitamins and knowing what foods will give them energy and keep them strong. She wants to get their feedback, learn about how they decide what to eat now, and teach them to make more informed choices.”
Cameron has said to have been inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifestyle website Goop. It’s also thought that the death of her father has given Cam a more serious interest in heath and nutrition,
“Everything changed for Cameron after her father died," the source adds. “She realised what is important and started to think more and more about her health.”
