Emma Watson and the case of the pink dog

Oh dear, Emma Watson is not happy. She’s not happy because a national newspaper has posted a story about her supposedly turning a little dog deep magenta in colour… and all because she was snapped taking the said pup for walkies.

But that’s not the real story, heatworlders, which is why Emma had to take to Twitter to point out the truth. The Harry Potter actress says that the brightly-coloured fur-ball actually belonged to her good pal Sophie Summer from America’s Next Top Model. And the reason the little pooch is wandering around with a coat brighter than a lollipop is because Sophie is raising money for breast cancer research.

Em tweeted, “I wish Darcy was my dog but she isn't : ( sorry daily mail! Was just walking her xx @sophiesumner @Pi nkDarcyDog.

"I don't have a dog. @Pi nkDarcyDog is Pink because her owner is raising money for breast cancer...#factcheckingtakesfiveminutes."

PETA have been on the case already and have recently released a statement saying, “Dying a companion animal's fur causes the animal stress and can lead to complications or allergic reactions that endanger the animal's health.

"Our dogs and cats love us regardless of how we look; we should extend the same kindness to them."

But according to sources, Darcy has been transformed using an animal-safe vegetable dye, which will only keep her bright for a few washes – so PETA shouldn’t have too much to worry about.

Still, we’re sure this hoo-ha will continue. But as long as Darcy’s happy, we’re happy.
