The female (and usually male) stars of The Only Way Is Essex are always groomed to perfection. Yes, whether they’re casually walking around a supermarket or out in the trendiest of bars there will be layers of eyelashes, a flawless tan and bouncy bouffant. It is precisely this kind of perfection that causes Geordie Shore girls Charlotte-Letitia Crosby and Rebecca Walker to feel inadequate watching them.
In an interview with Digital Spy the girls explained that viewers found the Geordie Shore girls more comfortable to watch because they were just being themselves. Rebecca said, “You know why though it’s because the girls in TOWIE are prim and proper all the time whereas you’ll see us in whatever state we’re in. [People] feel more comfortable watching us.”
“You watch our show and afterwards you sit and laugh about the best bits,” added Charlotte. “After I watch TOWIE, I feel really bad about myself. I want to go on a diet, ‘I'm not as nice as her’. I'm not perfect and you pick holes in yourself.”
The motto ‘No carbs before Marbs’ has been etched into our brains thanks to the TOWIE girls, but it seems Charlotte isn’t a fan. She laughed, “Sometimes I wish I could do no carbs before Marbs. But if I was going to Marbs, I'd do carbs in Marbs, before Marbs and after Marbs. And by the pool! The best carbs is a burger and a cocktail by the pool.”
Taking a further dig at the TOWIE cast, Rebecca scoffed, “Did you see the Marbella special? I would rather watch In the Night Garden. It was absolute b*$%*cks.
“When TOWIE is on, how many tweets do we get saying, 'We can't wait for Geordie Shore to be back on' and 'This is boring'? It’s crazy.”
MTV’s Geordie Shore: Chaos in Cancun can be seen on Tuesday nights at 10pm.
