She’s been dazzling our morning TV screens since before we can remember – and it’s fair to say breakfast TV just wouldn’t be the same without the pearly white smile of our lovely Lorraine Kelly. So we’re chuffed to hear that the telly queen has met the actual Queen to be awarded an OBE.
The very happy presenter admitted she was totally emotional when it came to accepting the honour in front of Her Majesty… particularly because she the ceremony was being held at Holyrood, in her home country of Scotland.
"I was very, very nervous, but it was an incredible and amazing experience,” Lorraine revealed. “I think because it is here at Holyrood, it made it even more special for me. I cried all the way through, I don't know what the Queen must have thought. I was just a bit overcome by it all to be honest."
Ah bless – what a (completely modest) legend she is!

Still Lorraine must know she deserves such an honour – after all she’s been appearing on British telly for a staggering two decades, has presented huge shows like GMTV and Daybreak and has done a lot for various charities over the years too, including the impressive 62 mile Red Nose Desert Trek through Kenya for Comic Relief.
Frankly, we think it’s totally deserved and that this OBE couldn’t have happened to a greater lady than Lorraine. And we’re very happy she’s joined the line of famous folk to be given the prestigious award this year, like Gary (Gaz Baz) Barlow who received his OBE a few weeks ago.
We’re sending you huge congratulations Mrs K.
