Last night, women across the country were pampering and preening themselves ahead of a night out, while their boyfriends took to the sofas, or the barstools, to settle down to a night of football. And the same can be said for our royalty.
According to The Metro, Kate Middleton (the Duchess of Cambridge, if we're to be formal about it) went to the theatre last night, leaving Prince William (the Duke of Cambridge, obis), at home to watch England beat Sweden 3-2.
She took 150 school children - all involved in her charity The Art Room - to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at Kensington Gardens. She picked high street for the occasion, teaming a blue Zara dress with a black jacket and black shoes. She wore her stunning brown hair loose and held onto a cuddly Aslan toy that the children had given her as a gift.
The Daily Mail reported that she said to the schoolchildren: "Did you see all the animals on stilts and wasn't Lucy cute? Wasn't it amazing? I just loved the way it is held in a tent. Really clever."
The founder of The Art Room, the charity Kate is a patron of, said that the children were "thrilled" to have been invited along to the tent by Kate.
Well, it's not exactly a night out on the tiles, but still a great way of getting out of watching a football match lacking in grade-A Beckham toothy!
