Lily Allen's going to be a popstar again! SCREAM!

Lily Allen's going to be a popstar again! SCREAM!

We bloody love Lily Allen. That’s why we’re ecstatic to hear that she is back making pop music again!

She tweeted a journalist (who’s been pestering her to make new material for literal YEARS) “you will be pleased to know that i am currently in the f**king studio with @GregKurstin so SHUT UP PETER !”

Greg Kurstin is a producer and songwriter, the same one who co-wrote Ivor Novello award-winning The Fear with her. Lily also told Peter Robinson, of Popjustice fame, and Caitlin Moran, of big hair (and The Times) fame: “no big deal really, im just throwing s*** at the wall and seeing if anything sticks.” Amazing!

The singer, who won loads of awards for her albums Alright, Still and It’s Not Me, It’s You, has given us some of the 2000s best songs, with tracks such as SmileNot Fair and LDN.

She’s been on a hiatus since September 2009, as she’s taken up a career as a couturier and started a family with builder and decorater husband Sam Cooper. But she’s on her way back, and we’re delighted!

Tax beef

The outspoken star (we mean it in the best possible way) has also chipped in what she thinks about The Times’ allegations that celebrities such as Gary Barlow and Jimmy Carr have avoided paying tax by putting their money into offshore accounts. (Something which their lawyers strongly deny).

She tweeted: “How are tax avoiders 'the moral equivalent of benefit cheats' ? . Surely they're a hundred times worse ?”

We bet her new material is going to be just as cutting! Are you excited about Lily's return?
