It's kind of sweet to see that Russell Brand is very protective over his mum. The jesus lookalike is so protective, in fact, that he had a go at Graham Norton while filming his chatshow, because he apparently made his mum cry. The presenter had done this by talking about Russell's recent split and ongoing divorce from pop star Katy Perry.
According to The Sun, Graham said Russell had been "very dignified" about his split from Katy. Russell said: "My mum is here, I was checking to see if my mum was all right."
"She got upset when you dragged up my marriage. I saw her cry, Graham."
In the sequence, which was cut from the final broadcast, he added: "That's why I was a little embarrassed when I saw my mum crying. You made my mum cry. I don't see you as that sort of person, Graham."
Graham replied, guiltily: "I don't see myself as that kind of person", to which Russell responded, "And yet you are"
After a hasty apology, Russell joked to actress Emily Blunt (who he'd been flirting with LOADS!) and singer Paloma Faith (who gave his cockney accent a run for its money) "He upped the stakes and stabbed me in the back."
The embarrassed host reportedly apologised to the comedian, who was on the sofa to promote his turn in musical movie Rock of Ages.
