It’s a not-so happy birthday to Tom Cruise! The Hollywood star celebrates his milestone 50th birthday today, but he won’t have his two of his leading ladies, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise, with him.
Having wife Katie Holmes filing for divorce just days before his birthday probably wasn’t the sort gift Tom had in mind for his landmark birthday. He probably would have been happy with just a tie or a nice pair of socks.
Tom is currently in Iceland working on a new sci-fi film Oblivion, and he previously told People.com that he and Katie would be enjoying the great outdoors together with a romantic birthday hiking trip planned (we’re sure hiking is romantic if you actually like that sort of thing),

“Iceland is beautiful. We like hiking, and so we’ll have some nice hikes and maybe go camping.”
No need for that two-man tent now Tom’s going to be solo on his big day.
Tom does have his son Connor with him in Iceland, so it won’t just be a film crew singing Happy Birthday today. We’re not sure were eldest daughter Isabella is, but hopefully she’ll fly in to give her old dad a hug.
Tom might be single again, but at 50 he’s still looking hot! (Hot if you don’t factor in all the Scientology weirdness anyway!)
Katie goes solo
Meanwhile, as we reported earlier today, Katie has been seen out and about fulfilling work commitments in New York. She’s removed her wedding ring – a clear message to Tom that she means business!
