There’s only one way to know you’ve made it big these days – when you’re the face of your very own fragrance.
Well step forward James Argent, who was last night unveiled as the official face of the latest TOWIE fragrance, Platinum VIP, while Sam Faiers fronted the ladies perfume, Love Addict.
Speaking at the launch, Arg told a packed audience at the Soho Sanctum hotel in London he couldn’t quite believe he was the face of a fragrance.

Later, speaking to heatworld, he added: “It’s a proud moment to be the face of a fragrance and the VIP Platinum for men and boys is a nice smell and it’s nice for us to be able to put our input into it.
“It’s an achievement – TOWIE as a TV show has been a huge success and I think everyone wants a piece of TOWIE and it’s just another thing people can get involved with.
“I had a nice bit of input, I tried out a few of the smells and stuff like that and I’m very pleased with the outcome.”
And – in case you were wondering – the scent of Essex isn’t all Lambrini, fake tan and Sugar Hut. While Love Addict has a “woody oriental accord with opening notes of lemon anise and raisin on a floral heart”, Platinum VIP is a “a fruity oriental accord opening with bright citrus notes of lemon, ozone, mandarin, pepper and cardamom”.
But there was only one question on our lips – does Gemma like the new scent on her man?
“Gemma really liked the Be Reem and now I’m waiting for that to finish and I’m sure she’ll be excited to smell the VIP platinum,” Arg told us. We’re sure she will!
