Lana Del Rey has covered 90s grunge band Nirvana during a gig in Sydney.
The National Anthem singer gave Heart-Shaped Box a bit of her own flavour, with a live orchestra accompanying her for parts of it. The song, written by the late Kurt Cobain, was inspired by a heart-shaped box that wife Courtney Love gave to him. Oh, and some of the lyrics are about documentaries about children with cancer.
Now, we think Lana’s got a lovely voice and it sounds great here, but she might be treading on eggshells when it comes to Kurt’s fans. Some of them are so obsessed with him that conspiracy theories abound that Courtney killed him (he actually committed suicide).
And Courtney’s pretty protective over Kurt, too, recently complaining that she wouldn’t want Robert Pattinson to play him in a biopic of his life as he is a “dick”.
What do you think of Lana Del Rey’s cover? Is she due to feel the wrath of Nirvana fans?
