If Tom Cruise is gutted about the end of his marriage of Katie Holmes, he’s put his acting skills to the test by stepping out for dinner and smiling for the paparazzi.
The Mission Impossible star was spotted out and about in LA walking around with a huge smile on his face. He then spoke to the paps as he emerged from a restaurant in Malibu with a male friend. He simply told the waiting snappers, “I’m good” when they inquired about how he’s doing in the aftermath of the split.
Not the most newsworthy statement we know, but this is the first time Tom has spoken out about his marraige break up.
In other Tom and Katie news, the former Dawson’s Creek actress has cancelled a scheduled official public appearance – despite having been seen out in New York on almost a daily basis since breaking up with her husband of five years.
Katie was due to attend a red carpet event for her Dizzy Feet Foundation but cancelled. Can’t say we blame her, hundreds of reporters would have swarmed to the event and asked questions about the divorce.
Tom’s house hunting
Tom is also reported to be looking for a new home in New York state so he can be close to Suri – who’ll be living in New York City with mum Katie, who won primary custody. He’s apparently contacted estate agents to check out home in posh New York suburbs so that he can find a home with plenty of space for Suri to play in without the paps being able to get any pictures,
"He wants something extremely secluded where Suri can play without paparazzi watching. There are lots of them in these towns," a source has blabbed to the New York Daily News.
