Remember a few weeks ago when some pranksters sent rapper Pitbull to the absolute middle of nowhere for a gig?
Well, this time, Charlie Simpson of ex-Busted fame is heading to the middle of nowhere. But it's on his own say-so - the husky-voiced emo singer is to fly to Oymyakon in Siberia so he can play a show there. I
t's not because he's got a lot of fans in the Russian district - only 472 people live there and we strongly doubt any of them are down with Busted or Fightstar. It's actually because it is the place on earth which has recorded the lowest temperatures ever, and Charlie fancies his chances of getting into the Guinness Book of World Records for performing the coldest gig ever.
An excited Charlie told NME.com: "The gig is by far one of the biggest challenges of my career, but I'm really excited to get out there and see a part of our planet that very few people will ever get to visit."
He added: "It's not really an option to play my guitar wearing gloves, so I just hope my fingers don't freeze."

Just to put it out there and show you how cold Oymyakon is, in 1924, a (teeth-chatteringly cold, we bet) scientist measured its record temperature to be a heart-stopping −71.2 °C!
There is also no running water or electricity, and it is so cold that mobile phones can't work there.
Which makes us wonder two things: 1. Maybe Prince Harry should have gone there for his naked billiards party? and 2. HOW is he going to do it without actually freezing!?
Charlie has teamed up with Jägermeister, best served as an ice cold shot, for the “Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig.” The trip will see him leave behind the luxuries of a famous rocker and travel to Oymyakon, the coldest permanently inhabited spot on the planet. Charlie will depart for Oymyakon on the 20th November and will perform The Jägermeister, Ice Cold Gig on the 24th November.
