We haven’t heard much from the usually gobby Example recently. He used to use his time on Twitter to get into feuds with all sorts of celebrities – The Saturdays, Cher Lloyd, The Wanted, and Alexandra Burke to name a few. And he even caused a controversy when he started the hashtag game #gaycrisps.
But he’s been quite well behaved of late. Is it anything to do with girlfriend, Miss Australia model Erin McNaught? We think so, going by his loved-up claims that she’s made him like a “schoolboy”.
He said: “When I met her, because she was famous and stunning, I was a bit stuck for words,
“It’s not like me - I'm normally a cocky b****** with girls. I don't get starstruck - well, only once with Stevie Wonder - but she turned me into a schoolboy.”
But, unlike when he was an actual schoolboy, his new squeeze makes him feel more confident, taking him away from when he was dissed at school for his appearance.
He told The Sun: “I was never properly bullied, but people would have a go tat my features – teeth, lips, nose, ears/ The size my facial features are now – imagine that on a 14-year-old. My teeth were the same size they are now but on a much smaller head.”
He added: “I was basically chastised constantly but I laughed it off.”
Which fits rather nicely with the lyrics of a new song which Example features on. War, by Jack Beats featuring Diplo and Example has a line which goes: “No matter what they say, we'll do it anyway and you can shoot us down but we were born this way”
Maybe this struggle of Example’s is why he used to lash out at other people so much? Either way, we’re pleased to see him happy.
