Every few months, we get wind of rumours that Hollywood supercouple Will Smith and Pinkett-Smith/">Jada Pinkett-Smith are set to divorce. Now, if it gets tedious for us to find out about them, and you, the reader, to read about them, spare a thought for Jada, who has to deal with the rumours!
She’s said that she’s at the end of her tether – not with hubbie Will, obvs - but with the rumours.
“It's rumoured that we're getting a divorce. But no. We're not getting a divorce. Where am I gonna go? Where am I going to go?"
In the interview with Essence magazine, she added: "That's my boo. It's like he's another part of me."
Awww. She also gushed about their daughter, Willow Smith.
She spoke about public opinion of the 11 –year-old singer and actress, who’s stepped out not only with a shaved head (turns out it was for a role), but instagrammed photos of herself with a (fake) tongue piercing:
"How people feel about Willow is how people feel about Willow. But what I'm most concerned about is how Willow feels about herself.”
She added: "She's an independent, courageous, genius, talented little girl. I'm happy for her, that she can just be who she is."
Jada, who is also mother to 14-year-old Jaden (wonder how they thought of that name!) also spoke about the charity work she’s been doing. After watching the viral Kony 2012 video, she felt inspired to help victims of sex trafficking: "We're all affected by this.”
“And one woman is one woman too many. We have to extend beyond ourselves"
Deep! That kind of perspective probably helps her to get past the annual divorce rumours!
