We totally adore Jessica Ennis. After finishing first in all but one of the whopping SEVEN events, she spoke to the press about what she’s been up to since winning gold.
Sitting next to sexy ginger longjumper Greg Rutherford, she told the assorted press: “It’s still not sunk in at all”
She thanked the home crowd for all of their support: “It sounds really cheesy ‘Oh the crowd will help you’, but it did so much. Especially in the running events.”
And she explained why she’s not going to compete in the hurdles later on this week: “I think my name was put down for the hurdles as a back-up plan…I just want to enjoy this moment, make the most of it.
"And to be honest, the way I’m feeling tired-wise and my body’s aching, I don’t think I could be at the level I needed to for the heat.”
No pressure, Jess. Well, at least not until Rio 2016!
