Remember creepy Joe Simpson? You know, the one who said that his daughter, singer-turned-reality star Jessica Simpson “couldn’t help” being sexy? Well, he’s just got in trouble again, this time for being caught driving under the influence.
The 54-year-old, who used to be Jessica and sister Ashlee’s manager, was pulled over by police in the Sherman Oaks area of LA at 10pm last Saturday (August 4). According to TMZ, during the stop, police thought he could be a bit tipsy, so arrested him and took him to a prison cell for the night!
He was let out at 9:41am the next day, without having to post any bail. No criminal charges have been filed against Joe yet, and if they are, then it’s apparently most likely that the worst he’ll see in terms of punishment is a large fine, as it’s his first offence.
This isn’t Joe’s first indiscretion. Way back in 2004, he told GQ exactly what he thought about his VERY OWN daughter: “Jessica never tries to be sexy. She just is sexy. She’s got double Ds- you can’t cover those suckers up!”
The former baptist minister was defended by his daughter at the time, who told Jane magazine: “My dad is very open about his ideas and...it's disgusting that people would actually think...people are making a judgment on something that is false.”
Oddly enough, the very night that Joe was arrested, new mum Jessica tweeted about staying sober: “Responsibility has drastically changed my life! Saturday night drink of choice.... WATER! :)”
