Michelle Heaton has revealed that her recent heart troubles aren’t the only health issues she has to contend with.
The former Liberty X singer has discovered that she carries the BRCA2 gene which puts her chances of suffering from ovarian or breast cancer at 80 per cent higher than average.
The mum-of-one will now have to make some very serious decisions about her health, and must choose between undergoing a double mastectomy or removing her ovaries to reduce the risk of cancer.
Sharing her news on with her fans on Twitter, Michelle has written,
“This week I have tests and investigations into the cancer gene so I can make informative decisions on operations & family going forward. X”
This was followed by a tweet telling fans that she’s taking the first steps towards making an informed decision about her health,

Michelle has also thanked fans and well-wishers for their kind words of support and for their advice,
