Last week, Katherine Jenkins wrote an impassioned statement on Twitter denying that she has ever had an affair with married father-of-four David Beckham.
She felt obliged to write the denial after seeing tweets flying around on the social networking site suggesting that something iffy had happened between the pair. However, once she tweeted, the story became bigger and bigger, and soon Katherine’s name was trending on the website.
David’s representative soon denied the rumours, too, telling Heat: “Unfortunately, we have to deal with this type of nonsense on Twitter. One minute David is dead, then more scurrilous rumours, there is not one jot of truth to any of it.
