Simon refuses to do The X Factor UK because the travelling would age him

 

Oh Simon. We knew you were vain but this really takes the biscuit.

Simon Cowell has said he won’t appear on The X Factor UK because it would mean travelling back and forth from America, and the jet-lag would make him look old.

The big guy is currently a judge on The X Factor USA, which airs mid-week, so he could technically make it home to old blighty for the live Saturday shows.

“Simon hates the way his face looks when he’s jet-lagged and that’s the real reason he will never be back,” an insider told The Sun.

“When he’s tired he gets bags and dark circles under his eyes and he hates that.

“The air-con on the plane also really dries out his skin.”

Poor baby…

Simon’s always been open about his regular botox fixes; claiming they are as essential as toothpaste.

The insider added: “Simon’s looks are important to him — he’s got one of the most famous faces in the world. This is all about him protecting his image.”

Lily Allen changes professional name to Lily Rose Cooper

 

She’s been married to Sam Cooper since last summer, but we’ve been struggling to call her Lily Cooper as opposed to Lily Allen.

But now it’s official; Lily Rose Cooper is her new professional name.

Not only has she got a new name, she’s also heading into the studio to send some new tunes our way, despite saying she was retiring from music and had no plans to make another album after the release of her second album, It's Not Me, It's You, in 2009.

The Fear singer confirmed the news yesterday on Twitter: “It’s great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music. I’m excited to be heading back into the studio.”

What with recording a new album, looking after baby Ethel, plus the upcoming arrival of her second little bundle of joy, it looks like Lily’s going to have her hands full.
 

Tamzin Outhwaite and Tom Ellis welcome second daughter

 

Congratulations are in order for Tamzin Outhwaite and husband Tom Ellis who have welcomed a baby girl into the world.

Tamzin – who’s best known for playing Ian Beale’s ex-wife Mel in EastEnders – gave birth to baby Marnie Mae Ellis yesterday, and it didn’t take long for proud dad Tom to spread the news on Twitter.

“What a couple of days...Gold medals from everywhere and...oh we had a beautiful baby girl called Marnie Mae Ellis 6lb 5oz of gorgeousness!”

Tamzin and actor husband Tom are already parents to three-year-old daughter Florence.
