The Spice Girls RULE the Olympics Closing Ceremony!

It was the moment we were waiting for. After a billion appearances from Emeli Sande and that awkward fifteen minutes when the playlist kept on repeating itself, the Spice Girls took to the stage of the Olympics Closing Ceremony.

We squealed, we screamed, we jumped off of our chairs at the sight of Victoria, Emma, Mels B and C and Geri singing, dancing and looking incredible atop their customised black cabs.

As well as the actual performance, you can see some other reasons why we love the Spice Girls even MORE after last night in this very gallery!

We weren’t the only ones to feel ecstatic at the sight of girl power’s comeback. London’s very own mascot/mayor, Boris Johnson, took the opportunity to do some jiving alongside David and Samantha Cameron. There’s no music on this clip, but you won’t be able to hear it over your laughter anyway!

Immediately after the fantastic performance - a mash-up of Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life - Mel B tweeted this photo, saying "Soooo much fun!" And if you squint, you can just about make out a smirk from Victoria.

Victoria soon left the partying, whereas the rest of the Spices sped off to George Michael's afterparty at his house in north London.

Back in the 90s, there was a feud between Oasis and the Spice Girls. Liam Gallagher said that the Spices only made songs for four year old girls, the Spices got their own back at the Brit awards, when Mel C heckled Liam. screeching: “Liam, come and have a go if you think you’re ‘ard enough!”

But all of the feuding is long gone, as Emma Bunton tweeted a photo of her, Mel B, Geri and Liam Gallagher (doing a Usain Bolt pose, no less) at about 6am in George Michael’s garden at his afterparty. Somehow, we think he is ‘ard enough!
